A SWEET ADVENTURE BETWEEN NATURE & ALPACA

01/07/2025 - 18/10/2026
Sarezzano
Bike&Train

Description

Set off from Tortona (arrive by train and e-bike rental or car + bike) with a route that follows the River Scrivia to discover the Nature Park as far as
Villalvernia.
The bed of the Scrivia is one of the best examples of preserved river habitat in Piedmont for natural state and territorial extension: it is considered an important stopover point and summering and wintering ground for migratory birds from Central Europe and North Africa. The area is therefore of great importance during the migratory period, forming a key resting and feeding area for many rare species. For these reasons, the area is probably the most interesting banding area of the region for scientific purposes. At Carbonara Scrivia the route enters the rolling hills of the area as far as Sarezzano where an expert guide of the Biopark will welcome the guests. After a short explanation of the activities of the canine center and characteristics of the animals which are bred and housed there, set off for the 3 km walk among the woods and hills in the company of
Caramello, Torroncino, Oreo, Silver, Liborio, Marcellina and Consuelo, just some of the alpacas hosted by the park.
The route crosses hills and wooded areas of rare beauty, home to medieval and residential villages. Half way along the route a delicious picnic based on local produce such as cured meats, cheeses, focaccia, accompanied by water and local wine. In autumn, an autumn snack with mulled wine. Return to Tortona, stop off in Vho, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.

The walks with alpaca are held between March and October.
