Bormida Experience

Description

There are places you don't travel through. You listen to them. The Bormida Valley is one of them.
A reserved and beautiful land, made of silence, forgotten roads, breathing ridges, gullies that resemble lunar landscapes, and villages that whisper ancient stories. Here, gravel isn't just a sport: it's a way to enter an authentic, rugged, and gentle land on the tip of your pedals. You'll pedal on dirt roads that wind through woods, vineyards, and pastures, along routes that seem tailor-made for those who love to lose themselves in order to find themselves. Every curve is a surprise, every climb a breathtaking view—and not just because of the effort. It's a journey into nature, but also into a different rhythm: the slow, profound rhythm of real things. And at the end of the journey, you'll be left with the light dust of the road... and the smile of someone who has breathed freedom.
Along the way, stop in Denice to visit the Church of San Lorenzo and enjoy local dishes with freshly made pasta on a panoramic terrace.

83 km route - Expert bike ride. Excellent fitness required. Some sections of the route may be unpaved or difficult to navigate by bike.

Note

This scenic route starts and ends in the historic town of Acqui Terme, easily reached by train from Alessandria or by cycling along the "Petalo Alto Monferrato" trail. It's important to pay attention around km 4.4, where the route includes a short one-way section of about 1 km in reverse, recommended to avoid a busy and dangerous provincial road.
