Cantiere in Cantina

Description

An evocative journey through the finest local agricultural produce and traditional specialties - much more than simple pleasures for the palate. These products are the purest expression of biodiversity, artisan dedication and local rural knowledge. This is not a story to be told, but an experience to enjoy with all your senses.
Walking through nature and visiting local producers, discovering age-old traditions and uncovering the secrets of skills handed down through generations, means connecting deeply with the identity of the land. It is an invitation to rediscover the value of slow living, craftsmanship and a close connection with the land, where outstanding local produce becomes landscape, culture and unforgettable memories.

Where the hills of Basso Monferrato gently give way to the plain, the landscape opens to a magnificent sight: the broad waters of the River Po. Here, surrounded by green hills, unspoiled nature and centuries-old villages, we take you on a journey to discover traditional flours and honey.

Arrival in Camino Monferrato, dominated by its imposing castle which overlooks the Po Valley.
Visit Mulino Marello, where the tradition of artisan milling meets a
passion for cereal growing to obtain certified gluten-free flours using traditional stone milling.
Together with Guido and Rosa, discover the secrets of this ancient art, in which the flours and blends contain no additives or thickeners, just carefully selected grains. Thanks to extensive research into blending techniques and grain size, the mill produces flours suitable for people with celiac disease and those intolerant to gluten. At the end of the visit, enjoy a tasting of products made with the mill's flour blends and plenty of recipes and ideas to try at home for a healthy and varied diet.

On the short journey to your next stop, open the windows and breathe in the scents of the woodland as you make your way to Rocca delle Donne, a small hamlet with a thousand-year history, surrounded by unspoiled nature.
Among this cluster of houses nestled together on a hillside, we find Marco Bianco's Beekeeping farm. Here, nature and bees take center stage in the production of exceptional honey, made with great care and passion. Visit the workshop and immerse yourself in this fascinating world of sweetness. Marco will introduce you to the world of bees and invite you to taste his distinctive honeys, including wild cherry, chestnut or dandelion honey. The farm is also renowned for its production of the Tonda Gentile Trilobata PGI hazelnut, transformed into delicious specialties such as hazelnut and honey spread, or hazelnuts caramelized with honey.
On the way back, why not stop at one of the area’s most charming viewpoints? Take in the scenery from Big Bench #117 of Camino or from the panoramic viewpoint in Cantavenna.
