Description
The Sila plateau in the heart of Calabria is an area of extraordinary natural beauty full of history: it offers breathtaking scenery, characterized by dense woods of pine, larch and beech, crystal-clear lakes and rolling hills which stretch as far as the eye can see. Besides the scenic beauty, Sila is rich of traditions and culture, with characteristic villages which tell the history of ancient populations and traditions handed down over the centuries. A journey to Sila is an authentic experience, an immersion into an unspoiled environment where nature reigns supreme and time seems to pass more slowly.

Arrive in Camigliatello Silano from where our full immersion day begins in the unspoiled nature of the National Park of Sila. Start the 6 km trekking tour which will last 2 hours and 30 minutes , with an elevation gain of 350 m and an elevation loss of 150 m. Along the route it is possible to immerse yourself in the forests of pine, larch and beech, maple and other endemic species of the Silan territory, all enriched by a flourishing and lush biodiversity which characterizes the entire area. At the end of the trek, visit a local farmhouse and taste the typical products of Sila. Followed by transfer by bus (or minivan) to reach Fallistro - Croce di Magara for the guided tour of the Giants of Sila Nature Reserve, a centuries-old wood managed by FAI - Fondo Ambiente Italiano. A ring route, easily accessed and suitable for all, which allows to discover one of the outstanding natural tourist attractions of the Sila plateau The Reserve is home to 58 specimens of pine, larch, and extraordinary mountain maple.
