Description

A tour from Turin to the area of Cuneo to discover several unusual points to experience, including the cities, in the open air: you’ll try urban trekking, enjoy a picnic in the garden of a royal residence or look at the cities of Piedmont from an exceptional scenic point, without missing the opportunity of an e-bike cycle or trek among the woods of our valleys.
The tour is available every year from May to November.


Schedule

Day 1

• Morning arrival in Turin.
• Lunch at leisure.
• Green Urban Trekking: a walk between the river and the hill, to the impressive belvedere of Monte dei Capppuccini. With the tour gui- de, discover the views and panoramas of one of the greenest cities in Europe. History, art and curiosities will enrich the route.
• Dinner at leisure.
• Overnight in 3* hotel or B&B in the city centre.

Day 2

• Breakfast in Hotel.
• Reach, by own means, the Reggia of Vena- ria Reale, hunting and leisure residence, sur- rounded by the sumptuous gardens.
• Admission and independent visit of the Reggia: evidence of the baroque taste for the arts, the attention of the patrons for the be- autiful.
• The dream will continue with a walk in the beautiful gardens that boast four centuries of history, from the remains of the Fountain of Hercules, to the Garden of Fluid Sculptures by Giuseppe Penone.
• Exceptional break for a quiet picnic in the Gardens.
• In the afternoon, independent open-air hike in the nearby Park of the Mandria.
• Return to Turin and dinner at leisure.
• Overnight accommodation.

Day 3

• Breakfast in Hotel and check-out.
• Morning dedicated to the independent visit of the Sacra of San Michele, an iconic symbol of the Region of Piedmont, in a magnificent panoramic position. The Benedictine abbey,
one of the largest architectural complexes of the Romanesque period in Europe, has been a point of reference over the centuries along the pilgrimage routes.
• The morning ends with a visit to the brewery that uses water of the valley to produce craft beer, tasting session.
• Lunch at leisure.
• Transfer to Cuneo by own means and ac- commodation in 4* hotel.
• An independent walk in the historic cen- tre of the city, lively and active in business and hospitality. Under the arcades, discover workshops, elegant shops and inviting cafes and pastry shops, historic and artistic eviden- ce including the Church of S. Francesco, the adjoining monastery and the civic museum, the baroque churches of S. Ambrogio, S. Ma- ria, the ancient church of S. Maria del Bosco, a cathedral since 1817, the patrician homes, the 17th - 18th century town hall, the 14th century municipal tower.
• Transfer in the late afternoon to Chiusa Pe- sio (15 minutes from Cuneo) by own means. • Evening trek, accompanied by a nature guide in Valle Pesio with final dinner based on local products. The woods, in the light of the sunset and moon, will transform into so- mething mysterious and captivating. The faint light of the moon rays will light up your steps through the fable - like landscapes. The tales of the popular tradition, historical anecdotes and natural curiosities, will make you discover an increasingly new and unique area.
• Return to Cuneo and overnight accommo- dation.

Day 4

• Breakfast in hotel.
• Transfer by own means to Chiusa Pesio to a local agriturismo for a day immersed in nature. • Meeting with the instructors, explanation and acquaintance with horses. Depart for an easy ride with companion on the ground - tour for beginners in the woods of Valle Pesio. • At the end of the ride, aperitif with local products at the agriturismo.
• Return to Cuneo and lunch at leisure.
• Independent E-Bike ride along Viale degli Angeli with the liberty buildings, the Park of the Resistance with the celebrated monument of Umberto Mastroianni and the Sanctuary of Madonna degli Angeli. The ride will continue into the Gesso and Stura River Park, the green lung of the city.
• Dinner at leisure.
• Overnight accommodation.

Day 5

• Breakfast in hotel and check-out.
• Transfer by own means to Caraglio, meeting with the guide to visit the celebrated Filatoio Rosso, built in just two years (1676 - 1678), this silk factory is the oldest factory in Europe still standing and one of the oldest factories in the world, and the Piedmont Silk Factory Museum. In the Twisting Room, the museum hosts the reconstruction of the impressive hy- draulic twisting machines for silk based on a Bolognese model. They will be put into opera- tion during the visit.
• Following the visit, depart to discover the secrets of the King of Valle Grana, the famous Castelmagno cheese made using cow’s milk. It is an authentic symbol of this area of the Alps and enjoys worldwide fame. Since 1982, it has boasted national D.O.C. recognition and, since 1996, European D.O.P. recognition.
• Guided tour of the cheese factory to obser- ve the production of the famous cheese and its ageing.
• Tasting of cheeses.
• Return.
