Day 2

Length: 53 km • Elevation gain: 1800 m+ • Difficulty: BC
Starting from Limone Piemonte (1400 m).
Ascent towards Colle di Tenda, where the Via del Sale joins the Forte Centrale, Cabanaira, Passo della Boaria, Rifugio Don Barbera, Bosco delle Navette, and Monesi. Miles and miles of dirt military roads with spectacular views, a variety of forests and alpine meadows, karst areas, and fortifications.
Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3

Length: 50 km • Elevation gain: 1500 m+ • Difficulty: BC
Starting from Monesi, climb to the Tanarello Pass and Monte Saccarello (sea views in good weather). Descent to the Collardente Pass (Napoleon's Pass), Bassa di Sanson, and climb to the Marta and Balconi di Marta barracks (with the largest Alpine fortification in the Vallo Alpino del Littorio). Return to Bassa di Sanson and a 20 km descent on a spectacular dirt road towards the Roya Valley, arriving in La Brigue and Saint-Dalmas de Tende.

Day 4

Length: 38 km • Elevation gain: 1500 m+ • Difficulty: BC
Starting from Saint-Dalmas de Tende, climb towards Casterino and the Valley of Marvels, famous for its rock carvings. Arrive at Basse de Peyrafique, and return to the Col de Tende passing beneath the Rocher de l'Abyss. Various descent options towards Limone.
