A journey through stills, barriques, and magic along the Monferrato hills: the area's extensive wine production means that pomace becomes a precious ingredient for the artisans (somewhat alchemists) of distilled spirits. Visit an ancient distillery to discover the production processes and its spectacular barrel cellar, followed by a tasting in the wine shop/enoteca (wine shop) featuring grappa, spirits, liqueurs, and fruit liqueurs. Enjoy a unique sensory experience in the adjoining restaurant, a tasting tour pairing food and spirits in a play of scents and aromas along the Strada dei Fiumi (Road of the Rivers).
Note
Upon arrival, participants will be led by a guide to the distillery to learn about the various production phases, absorbing the aromas and emotions. The tour will continue inside the evocative aging barrel room to discover the fine wood barrels in which the fine distillate rests, offering unique sensory experiences. Then, they will move on to the exciting "Grappa Gallery," an artistic display of historic spirit bottles. The visit will conclude inside the Enoteca Monferrina, a charming underground cellar where, in a welcoming atmosphere, guests will partake in a sensory tasting of typical products, grappas, spirits, liqueurs, brandies, fruit liqueurs, and other indulgent delicacies. Lunch will follow in the adjoining restaurant.
